At the Alan Turing and Ada Lovelace (ATAL) Computing Club, the initial idea for a mobile application began to help address problems received from other UWL students. Issues such as the need for a live bus tracking system and an easy-to-access timetable to display shuttle bus times are only a few of the many solutions resolved within the app.

The native android project began in June 2016. It is now in its finishing stages, however the hybrid application is still in development. The Android native application was coded using Java and XML, within the Android Studio IDE. However the hybrid mobile app is using a single HTML, CSS and AngularJS codebase with OnsenUI and Monaca. The native app currently contains several features such as a live shuttle bus timetable with Google Maps integration and bus route, a campus tour, accommodation details for Paragon residents, live events at UWL and a chatbot. We hope to integrate these features into the hybrid version in the near future.

The university tour gives users a great insight about the locations and services provided by UWL

The live bus timetable will display the time to the next shuttle bus in real-time (for both towards Paragon and towards Ealing Broadway). The live tracking feature is also integrated into the Google Map

The Google Map provides users markers of relevant bus stops, a clear bus route and some options to toggle the visibility of map markers.
